Employee exposure considerations
OSHA’s Bloodborne Pathogens Standard applies to employees with occupational exposure to human blood or other potentially infectious materials. Employers should not assign cleanup tasks casually when exposure is reasonably anticipated.
Reduce disruption where possible
The cleanup plan should match the affected area and property use. In some cases only a contained portion of the property is involved; in others, broader access restrictions may be appropriate.
